如果说，66号公路是美国自由精神之路，那么密西西比河便是孕育美国文化的灵魂之水；如果说，66号路是美国的母亲路，那么密西西比河便是美国的父亲河。在美国文化里，密西西比河被称作大河(Great River)。始终伴随大河的，只有唯一一条纵贯南北的61号公路，也就是Bob Dylan唱的那条“重返61号路”。密西西比河从明尼苏达开始，61号路就一直相伴左右。这条路除了被称为“大河之路”，也被誉为“蓝调公路”。

这是一个开始，还是一个结束？

要走过多长的路

人才可称之为人？

一只白鸽要飞越多少海洋，

才可以卧在沙上安息？
